I have recently finished a snowboard holiday in your beautiful resort. This was my third such holiday to Whistler. On this occasion I felt that my snowboarding skills had improved enough to venture into the Terrain Park. Having scoured the Whistler -Blackcomb Web site prior to leaving the UK I was reassured to read that the Park on Whistler would be ideal to initially develop skills, prior to advancing to the more advanced and demanding park on Blackcomb.

To my horror, on arrival in Whistler I discovered that the terrain park on Whistler had not even opened and that it was not going to be opened. Usage of a terrain park was therefore only available to an individual if he or she felt that their skills were of an advanced or expert standard. I am not yet able to claim admission to these dizzy heights.

Has Intrawest provided any information to the local community? Certainly on an international level, it would appear that they are content to continue with a program of misinformation. The Sunday Times dated 11 Feb. 2001, carried an article about skiing and new skis, Whistler and its terrain parks on both mountains was, as expected, mentioned.

Will Intrawest correct this folly?

Yours Faithfully
