WHEN: Saturday, March 10

The adele-campbell Fine Art Gallery plays host this week to artist Mike Svob and his exhibit Colour Passages.

Svob has called British Columbia home for nearly 20 years, but has travelled and trekked extensively through Europe and Nepal. Colour Passages is a collection of landscapes reflecting his journeys, including many hours spent in Whistler.

"I have fun with it. I push it. It’s bold. I treat it as the way I feel about the subject," says Svob about his use of vibrant colour.

That trademark has won several awards and has made Svob a highly collected artist in North America and beyond.

Some of his best-known pieces, however, aren’t found in galleries. Svob has completed nearly 30 murals, the largest of which stands about 100 feet by 30 feet. His works can be seen both indoors and out, from Pennsylvania all the way to The Metrotown Centre in Burnaby.

Svob is also sought after as a teacher, leading workshops across the country.

A reception will be held Saturday, March 10 from 7 to10 pm. The exhibit can also be viewed online at www.adele-campbell.com.
