Everyone invited to grand opening

All of Whistler is invited to the grand opening of Maurice Young Millennium Place. Sunday, June 17 marks the ribbon-cutting ceremony with cake, live music and facility tours starting at 2 p.m.

The first two weeks for MY Place promise to be busy — and fun. Canadian Country singer, Lisa Brokop, as well as local boys Big Up and Whole Damn County represent just a handful of the musical entertainers planned for June.

If you’ve been dying for some good theatre in the resort, you won’t want to miss Margo Kane and her bittersweet, one-woman show, Confessions of an Indian Cowboy.

Al Simmons, a frequent guest on Sesame Street, brings his wacky antics to MY Place for kids of all ages. And, if you prefer to be on the stage, why not sign up for a workshop with Vancouver Theatresports.

The Whistler Dance Society has already begun its workshops and will showcase some of the valley’s most promising talents in Momentum, an evening featuring dance from across the spectrum, with proceeds benefiting the newly-formed society.

For dates and prices on all performances, drop by Maurice Young Millennium Pace or call their new Ticketmaster outlet at 935-8418.
