Paradata receives export award

Whistler-based Paradata Systems, a provider of global integrated payment systems, is one of three finalists in the New Exporter category of the 2001 B.C. Export Awards.

Pacific Rim Cabinets and Premier Building Products are also finalists in the category.

"We are honoured to be recognized as a finalist for New Exporter," said Shannon Byrne, Paradata’s president and CEO. "Paradata has successfully formed alliances with key international players in the financial, processing and payment engine industries, which has dramatically improved our exporting potential.

"Today, Paradata’s strong global relationships will allow us to continue increasing our export capabilities to large markets in the United States, Europe and Asia."

The annual B.C. Export Awards, in their 19 th year, are presented by the new Ministry of Competition, Science and Enterprise in partnership with Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters. The are open to all companies in the province that have been exporting for three or more years.

Three finalists are recognized in eight other categories in addition to New Exporter. They are: Professional Services, Consumer Products, Manufactured Products, Advancing Technologies, New Media and Entertainment, Creative Partnering, Marketing Innovation and Market Sustainability.

There is also a leadership award, which was presented to Anthony von Mandl, president and CEO of Mission Hill Wineries and the Mark Anthony Group.

The 27 finalists were recognized at the Terminal City Club in Vancouver, and the nine winners will be announced on Oct. 22 at a ceremony at the Vancouver Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel.
