The Whistler chapter of the Alpine Club of Canada is holding its annual gear swap at Maurice Young Millennium Place on Dec. 8, from noon to 4 p.m.

If you have any alpine gear to donate, whether it’s for backcountry use, skiing, snowboarding, telemarking, cross-country skiing, mountaineering, rock climbing or ice climbing, bring it to MY Place between 9 and 11 a.m. that morning. If the gear sells that afternoon, the club will take 15 per cent and you will get the rest.

It costs $2 to get in, and all proceeds will go towards the various courses and programs that the club offers, as well as fund the operation of the Wendy Thompson Hut in the alpine basin between Cayoosh Mountain and Mount Marriott off the Duffey Lake Road.

The Alpine club is also looking for volunteers. Call Christine Matthews at 604-938-2101.
