It will be at least another week before the Transportation Advisory Group makes some decisions on Whistler’s transportation master plan. A TAG meeting scheduled for Feb. 10 has been postponed because "the consultants have been having some problems with their systems," TAG chair Bill Murray said this week. "We should be getting the report some time this week but we want all the members to have a week-to-10 days to analyze it," Murray said. TAG has been working with consultants Reid Crowther and Ecosign for the past 18 months on a transportation master plan for the Whistler Valley. Several scenarios have been outlined, ranging from plans which would increase reliance on automobiles to plans which favour alternative transportation systems. Consultants have been running data through each of the scenarios and will be presenting that information at the next TAG meeting. TAG members are expected to narrow the range of options at that meeting and set a direction for Whistler’s long-term transportation needs.
