A 36-year-old Burnaby man died on Blackcomb Wednesday morning due to trauma related injuries. Blackcomb Ski Patrol were notified at 10:07 a.m.

A 36-year-old Burnaby man died on Blackcomb Wednesday morning due to trauma related injuries. Blackcomb Ski Patrol were notified at 10:07 a.m. Wednesday of a male skier who had sustained serious injuries while skiing on Blue Line, an intermediate run in the Glacier Express area. Ski patrol arrived on the scene two minutes after notification and began basic life support. A ski patrol paramedic was on the scene at 10:12 a.m. and an emergency physician arrived shortly after. The man was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:31 a.m. due to trauma related injuries. The name of the deceased had not been released prior to Pique going to press.
