Call for book-adoption at library It's your chance to be as generous as Daddy Warbucks and sponsor literary development. There are orphaned books out there in the big wide world that can be given a happy home at the Whistler Public Library if you sign up to adopt a book. In a drive to increase the library's collection the community is being encouraged during May to adopt either a book, tape, CD or video. For between $20 and $35 you can help the library put one of these items on the shelves. The inside leaf of your adopted item will be labelled with your dedication. For $700 you can have the library adopt a book in your name once a year forever. There are 15 possible categories to choose from for your legacy, including art, local history, non-fiction, magazines, business, mountaineering and reference. Forms for adoption are available from the library.
