For the Record A story in the May 29 edition of Pique, 2010 An Olympic Odyssey, stated the Canadian Olympic Association chose to support Montreal’s bid for the 1976 Summer Olympics over Whistler’s bid for the 1976 Winter Games. In fact, the COA supported both bids. The International Olympic Committee awarded the 1976 Summer Olympics to Montreal and the 1976 Winter Olympics to Denver. The city of Denver later decided against holding the Winter Olympics and they were moved to Innsbruck, Austria.
