During the late ’80s and early ’90s Whistler finally secured its place firmly on the world map of great year-round resorts. The community gradually began to pull on the brakes and to look around and say, "O.K., now what?" The consensus was that something was still missing. Whistler, by its very nature and location, seems to attract spiritual people. Something in the pure mountain air seems to breathe of mutual tolerance and respect for all who live and visit here. Here, if anywhere, there should be a central ecumenical chapel where all are welcome. What could be done to make it a reality? Whistler’s Community Millennium Project
