The Vancouver-Whistler Bid Society officially presented its bid book to the Canadian Olympic Association in Ontario Oct. 15.

The Vancouver-Whistler Bid Society officially presented its bid book to the Canadian Olympic Association in Ontario Oct. 15. Vancouver-Whistler and the two other cities vying to carry the Canadian bid for the 2010 Winter Olympics to the International Olympic Committee — Calgary and Quebec City — will make their presentations to the COA on Nov. 21 in Toronto. The 79 voting members of the COA will chose one of the three later that day. The IOC is expected to award the 2010 Winter Games in the spring of 2003. The bid book contains each bid society’s vision for the Games as well as the technical information on facilities and transportation. The books are submitted a month ahead of the presentations in order to give COA members time to study the bids. A COA site-selection committee toured the Vancouver and Whistler sites in August to ensure each bid was technically sound and to offer each bid society advice on their bids.
