Lake Louise received conditional approval from FIS officials Wednesday for the women’s World Cup downhill and super G races scheduled for Nov. 27-29. There were a couple of areas on the course Wednesday which required further snowmaking. FIS officials were to return to Lake Louse today (Nov. 20) to make a final determination. Meanwhile, FIS officials will inspect the Dave Murray Downhill on Whistler Mountain Nov. 25 to decide if there is enough snow for the men’s World Cup downhill and super G, scheduled for Dec. 5-6. As of mid-week, the Dave Murray course had sufficient snow down to the Fallaway section. Snowmakers have been stockpiling snow on the upper parts of the course to move down the hill if needed.
