Taiwan developer Sung-lin Lien has announced plans to build a lodge on Lot 19 in Village North next spring. The project is believed to be the first Taiwanese-backed major project in Whistler. Sung-lin Lien has previously built subdivisions in Richmond. Located at the apex of Main Street, across the street from Aunty Em's in Marketplace and from the new Tindall Stone Lodge, the lodge may be called The Apex at Main. Across the road and down Main Street at Market Pavilion, Trilogy Developments Ltd. has announced some of the tenants that will be in place when the building opens Nov. 23. Retail tenants include Kentucky Fried Chicken, Domino’s Pizza, Roastmastir’s Coffee, La Tortilleria Mexican Restaurant, The Gallery Cafe and Bakery, Bare Essential Health Foods, Whistler Boarders and Blades, Dual Mountain Dry Cleaners and Whistler Cablevision. Whistler Chalets will manage the 29 residential condominiums. Meanwhile, WLC Developments reported last week that no deal has closed yet on Lot 23 in Village North. The lot is zoned for up to 91,000 square feet of hotel space and 12,000 square feet of retail/commercial space. It is one of only two parcels that have yet to be sold, the other being Lot 9, a mixed use parcel.
