Whistler Masters racer Bob Switzer picked up $10,000 Monday after matching his time exactly in the Kinesys Match for Cash contest on Blackcomb. Switzer matched his time of 13.69 seconds on two consecutive runs on Blackcomb’s Perrier Valvert Ski Machine. More than 500 people have attempted to match their time on two consecutive runs since Blackcomb started the contest this year. Switzer, who has been involved in the ski industry for more than 30 years, says he’s made more than 15 attempts on the ski machine over the last two months. "This is the most exciting thing I’ve ever experienced in my life," Switzer said. "I’ve won the cost of all my season passes back from Blackcomb!" Switzer says his secret was many training runs and precisely tuned skis. He plans to cash his cheque and have a huge party. David Barry, director of sales and marketing at Blackcomb, says the company hopes to award another $10,000 before the end of the season.
