A 12-year-old girl suffered neck injuries and was evacuated by helicopter to the Whistler Health Care Centre Wednesday after skiing into a ski rack at the top of Blackcomb’s Excalibur Express gondola. The child was unconscious at the scene, where Blackcomb Ski Patrol provided advanced life support. She continued to receive treatment and was stabilized at the Health Care Centre. She was expected to be transported to Children’s Hospital for further treatment. The accident occurred at approximately 10:26 a.m. Wednesday. No other details, including where the girl is from, were known at press time.
