Greensides Properties’ plans to develop the Whistler Campground were put on hold once again when campground owner Ruth Buzzard decided to file another appeal. A B.C. Supreme Court judge ordered Buzzard to complete the sale of the lands to Greensides last month. Buzzard had until April 12 to file an appeal and did so. It is the latest in a series of court rulings and appeals in the last couple of years, all of which have gone against Buzzard. Buzzard indicated after the last court ruling she didn’t expect the campground to be open this summer, but she did open for the Easter weekend. Meanwhile, campers, vans and buses have moved into the day skier lot number 4 in increasing numbers. The situation has raised concerns among staff at the Whistler Health Care Centre. Some people, believed to be campers, have been using the washroom facilities at the Health Care Centre. Two staff members also had purses stolen from the centre last week. RCMP were believed to be considering a crackdown on illegal camping in the parking lot, but no action had been taken at press time.
