A number of Whistler buildings are featured in the winter 1996 issue of Wood le Bois, the Canadian Wood Council’s publication. The Intrawest Resort Club, Whistler Public Safety Building expansion, Trestle House in Whistler Creek, Jensen residence in Whistler Cay Heights, Whistler Town Plaza and Glacier Creek Lodge on Blackcomb are all featured in the winter issue on alpine architecture in Canada. The Trestle House, which was built by Whistler-based Whirlwind Homes, was featured in an issue of Fine Homebuilding last year. The Jensen residence was also built by Whirlwind. Brad Sills of Whirlwind says the Pacific Northwest area, including Vancouver and Whistler, has become one of the hottest spots for architecture in North America. Among the other alpine architecture projects featured in Wood le Bois are two projects in Banff, the Post Hotel expansion and a residential complex, and the base lodge at Marble Mountain in Newfoundland.
