This bell tolls for thee North of D'Arcy at the far end of Anderson Lake is a 101-year-old church in need of renovations and donations from friends to make that happen. The Seton Lake Band at Seton Portage are taking on the restoration of their community Necait Church to preserve its intricately patterned steeple, ornately carved alter and stained glass windows. The entire community is involved in the project, but it is a small community. They are seeking donations from corporate, church, and community groups, as well as individuals who have a heartfelt feeling for preserving B.C.'s heritage buildings. Although the project is set for completion by Christmas this year, donations will ensure the project is completed fully. The isolated communities of Seton Portage, Shalath and Ohin will celebrate an official opening in the new year. If you can help out, call band manager Allan Bunian at (604) 259-8227, or fax him at 259-8384. John Cooper of Whistler is $1,000 richer after his name was drawn in last week’s Win a Condo at Whistler lottery. The annual lottery, which supports the Whistler Mountain Ski Club, Blackcomb Ski Club and Burnaby General Hospital, has been giving away a $1,000 prize each week since September. There will be three more $1,000 prizes drawn, on Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. The Dec. 19 draw will be for tickets to the Three Tenors Concert on New Year’s Eve at B.C. Place. The grand prize draw for a one bedroom condo at Stoney Creek will be held Dec. 24. Second prize of a Pontiac van will also be drawn on Dec. 24. A limited number of tickets are being sold at $100 each. Ski club members will be selling tickets in Village Square Nov. 30. Tickets are also available by calling 280-4444.
