The Whistler Community Arts Council’s annual Bizarre Bazaar is this Saturday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the conference centre. The annual craft fair, now in its 10th year, is a great opportunity to get a jump on Christmas shopping and features some of the most individual gift ideas anywhere. This year’s Bizarre Bazaar will feature nearly 100 vendors selling items such as hand-crafted wooden products, dried flower arrangements, clothing, toys, ceramics and jewelry. The Bizarre Bazaar is the major fund raiser for the Whistler Community Arts Council. The money raised goes towards the council’s annual Children’s Festival in June. Income from table rental, photos with Santa (noon to 2 p.m.) and a donation box at the door will all go towards the cost of the children’s programs. The Condomsense campaign returns Dec. 12-18. The Coast Garibaldi Health Unit will be distributing condoms and reminding young people of the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases during the Condomsense campaign. Condoms will be distributed at staff housing, Merlin’s, Garfinkel’s and Tommy Africa’s. Whistler has had one of the highest levels of sexually transmitted diseases in the province. The Coast Garibaldi Health Unit is looking for recruits for the Condomsense Campaign. Training takes place Dec. 10. Call 932-3202 for information.
