New York firefighters to attend Christmas service

Two firemen from the New York City Fire Department will be spending Christmas in Whistler and attending mass at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church this year.

Two firemen from the New York City Fire Department will be spending Christmas in Whistler and attending mass at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church this year.

Members of the congregation as well as the Whistler Fire Department will host New York firemen Doug Anderson and James Toelsted.

Both men will attend Midnight Mass at the conference centre on Christmas Eve, at 11 p.m.

During the service there will be a short program of remembrance for those who lost their lives on Sept. 11. The Whistler Fire Department will also participate in the ceremonies.

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE - The Whistler Community Church invites people to attend their Christmas candlelight service at the Myrtle Philip Community Centre, 6195 Lorimer Road, 8 p.m.

CHRISTMAS EVE CELEBRATION

The Whistler Village Church hosts a traditional candlelight celebration with Rev. Harlene Walker at Millennium Place, 4334 Blackcomb Way. 10:30 p.m. For information call 604-935-8410.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church will be at the Whistler Conference Centre on Christmas Eve. Singing will begin at 10:30 p.m. and Mass begins at 11 p.m.

CHRISTMAS EVE in PEMBERTON

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church will have its Christmas Eve service at 1360 Pemberton Farm Road, 8 p.m.

St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Mount Currie will have a Midnight Mass beginning at midnight.

Tuesday, Dec. 25

CHRISTMAS DAY

There will be two services at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, 6299 Lorimer Road. The first one begins at 9 a.m. and the second at 11 a.m.

CHRISTMAS DAY in Pemberton

There will be a service at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1360 Pemberton Farm Rd., 9 a.m.
