Farfalla’s 4 th annual fashion show benefits Camp Moomba, Zero Ceiling

There will be no bad hair days on March 20.
Owner Emanuela Bertoia, who established a natural concept, environmentally-friendly spa four years ago in Whistler, has organized another fashion show. Casual wear will be the main focus.
"I had all these creative ideas, and I’ve always been into organizing dress up parties and events," she says.
The show’s theme is Eras of Time, as 20 locals walk you through a time warp from the thrifty ’30s to the space-age future.
For example, the ’40s decade features a more military theme style, with big band music from the likes of Cab Calloway.
Staffers will be moving quickly as they assist models in, and out of imaginative costumes and hair styles from different decades, from pin curls to the platinum blonde of Marilyn Monroe. Costume assistance comes from 99 Reasons to Party.
Womenswear and menswear from Amos & Andes, Blue Balls Boutique, and McCoo’s, and intimates from Basic Intimates, will also be on display.
Several familiar faces will also be featured in the show, in addition to a few surprises. Even Elvis is scheduled to make an appearance as part of a choreographed dance routine.
"We have Michelle Bush dressed up in tacky and fun clothing, who will walk around using a New York accent, all part of the Fashion Police," adds Bertoia.
Guitar Doug will also make an appearance.
Fire thrower Alison Kemp works her magic on stage, in addition to magicians who will walk around entertaining an audience caught in a time machine.
DJs Foxi Ozzy, Spinderella, Vinyl Ritchie and LP, in addition to live entertainers, accompany the retro models and their threads down the mini-catwalk at GLC’s stage.
Tickets are minimum $20 at the "by donation" affair. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Camp Moomba, a camp for children living with HIV and AIDS supported by the Western Canadian Pediatric AIDS Society. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit the Zero Ceiling Society of Canada, a non-profit society that assists under privileged youth with outdoor experiences.
