Gymnastics Results

Two weekends ago the Whistler Gymnastics Club took part in the annual Carol Lenz Memorial meet in Surrey. Here are their results: Nicola Bennett swept the Level 2 Open category for girls 15 and over.

Two weekends ago the Whistler Gymnastics Club took part in the annual Carol Lenz Memorial meet in Surrey. Here are their results:

Nicola Bennett swept the Level 2 Open category for girls 15 and over. She walked away with four out of five possible gold medals, including the all around gold.

Natasha Quinn won a silver medal on the vault in the Level 2 Novice category (ages 13 and 14). Also in provincial Level 2 division, Niki Sadler placed eighth on vault and floor for the Tyro category (ages 11 and 12), and Frances Moody was fourth on vault in the Argo competition (ages 10 and under).

In the provincial Level 1 division, novice Rachel Kleinman won gold on the beam and placed fourth on the floor to finish fifth all around. Megan McSkimming earned a bronze on the vault and finished fourth on beam to finish sixth. Holly Heterington was fourth on bars and fifth on beam to finish seventh overall.

In the Tyro category, Christine Brett was fourth all around with a silver medal performance on the vault and a fifth place finish on the bars. Samantha DePatie surprised coaches and herself with a convincing gold medal performance on the bars. Michaela D’Artois was eighth on bars and Angelina Manuel was eighth on the floor.

In the Argo category, Annik Tetreault and Makinna Coombs were fifth and seventh respectively on bars.
