The Sierra Wireless Air Canada Whistler Cup is one of the largest and most competitive juvenile race series in the world, attracting hundreds of racers from 21 countries for races which this year will take place April 5 to 7.

This weekend is set-up time, and organizers are looking for a minimum of 30 people each day to pitch in and donate their time on Friday (March 29), Saturday and Sunday. Meet at the top of Garbanzo chair at 9 a.m. if you want to take part. Free lift passes are given to workers who don’t already have season’s passes.

Volunteers will put up protective netting, smooth any rough sections of the course, and help out where help is needed.

More help will be needed during the races, both on and off the hill, if you can’t make it this weekend. Call the Whistler Mountain Ski Club at 604-932-4644 to volunteer, or e-mail Doug McLean at doug@mountainlaw.com or Carol and Glen Bayliss at gbayliss@direct.ca.
