The long battle between skiers and snowboarders will be whipped into a froth during the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, as two-plankers – otherwise known as plank wanks – take on knuckle draggers in a friendly game of hockey.
The first annual SBC Media Snowsport Challenge charity hockey game will be held on April 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Meadow Park Arena.
Teams will compete under the banners of Snowboard Canada and Skier magazines, and will feature pro riders, photographers, and industry people.
SBC Media publishes action sport magazines and publishes both Snowboard Canada and Skier.
Donations at the door are encouraged, but not required to play or watch, although donors will be eligible to win a new snowboard or skis. All the money raised will go towards children’s and parathletic ski and snowboard development programs in the Whistler area.
The event finishes an hour and a half before the Pro Photographer’s Showdown, which means you can do both.
