In the coming weeks, contractors will be closing Exit One in Horseshoe Bay as part of the $30 million expansion project by B.C. Ferries to upgrade the terminal. The exit will be closed for about a month.
In the coming weeks, contractors will be closing Exit One in Horseshoe Bay as part of the $30 million expansion project by B.C. Ferries to upgrade the terminal. The exit will be closed for about a month.

To ensure that traffic will keep flowing smoothly, Exit Two, the Eagleridge exit, will open. After the reconstruction of the Exit One, drivers will have the option of using either Exit One or Two.

The grand opening of the First Nations Inuit Home and Community Care center in Mount Currie is set for May 3, from 10:00a.m. to noon. Chief Allen Stager and other speakers will christen the center. At 11:30 a.m. there will be a hand-drumming and singing performance by the Iswalh Native Dance Group. A closing prayer and a luncheon will follow the presentations.

The Pemberton District Museum and Archive Society is having their annual fundraiser on May 4, at 6:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Pemberton.

The museum and archive society is a volunteer organization and it depends on community support to keep running.

The museum hopes to become an important tourist attraction in Pemberton. The night will include some entertainment from local artists. It will also include a silent auction, with an assortment of prizes ranging from gift certificates to free golf.
