RCMP seek out pass forgers

The Whistler RCMP detachment is looking for one, or possibly more, suspects who are accused of copying and selling 2001-2002 season passes to Whistler-Blackcomb.

The Whistler RCMP detachment is looking for one, or possibly more, suspects who are accused of copying and selling 2001-2002 season passes to Whistler-Blackcomb.

The only suspect identified is described as a white male between the age of 20 and 30, approximately six-feet, three or four inches tall, with a sturdy build, dirty blond hair, dark eyebrows and a small "jive beard" under his lower lip. He was wearing jeans and a tee shirt, was clean in appearance, and had a Canadian accent. When he was first seen, he had his right arm in a sling.

According to the RCMP, the passes are copies of legitimate passes with identical bar codes, but with different photographs attached. They were being sold by one or more suspects for $500. It is unknown how many passes were produced.

The RCMP received a report on the stolen passes on March 23 when an individual was arrested for possessing one of the copied passes. So far the male suspect is cooperating with police and has not been charged for the offence.

He provided a description of one of the males believed to be selling the fake passes.

If anyone has any information about the suspect described above and depicted in the composite sketch, contact Constable Purewal at 604-932-3044.

Camera equipment stolen

On April 28, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Whistler RCMP received a report for a 28-year-old male that his vehicle had been broken into earlier that evening while parked in the underground lot by Boston Pizza in Creekside.

Approximately $10,000 worth of camera equipment was taken, including a Canon XL-1 Digital Video Camera, a Manfrotto Tripod, and a Green Lowe Pro Camera Bag.

The individual would like the equipment and his footage returned.

If you have any information, contact the Whistler detachment at 604-932-3044.
