After several months of discussion and research, the Whistler Chamber of Commerce has decided to support the 2010 Olympic Bid.

The board met on Tuesday night to pass a resolution and now want to ensure their decision has a strategic impact.

"The Whistler Chamber of Commerce Olympic Committee will be meeting to identify the optimal way to bring this resolution to fruition," said Brent Leigh, president of the WCC.

The chamber's decision was a result of extensive research and consultations.

Terry Wright, vice president of the Olympic Bid Committee, addressed the top 10 concerns raised by the membership in a series of information meetings over the past months.

Those concerns included housing, transportation, security and infrastructure, among other things.

Three chamber members also visited Salt Lake City and shared their perceptions and findings with the other members on their return.

All reported positive impacts to businesses and the community as a result of hosting the 2002 Winter Games.

In other Olympic news, another 2010 candidate city has published its mini-bid book online.

Jaca, Spain is the second city, after Bern, Switzerland, to make its results public. It can be found a www.Jaca2010.es.

The IOC does not require that candidate cities release their mini-bid books to the public.

Vancouver 2010 will keep its response confidential until the IOC releases its short list of candidates for the 2010 Games at the end of August.
