The Sea to Sky Junior Golf Tour kicked off on July 3 with a round at Pemberton Valley.

A total of 20 golfers showed up to the first of seven stops on the tour, despite the cool weather, strong winds, and threat of rain.

The day ended in a tie for first between Spencer Craig and Jordan Koren, both of whom shot a six-over par 78. Gordan Yakura was second with a 79, and Scott Sellers of Squamish shot a round of 80.

Sellers’ sister Stephanie was the only girl in the game, and shot a round of 95.

Jacob Caldwell won the long drive for the age 13 and under competitors, and Scott Sellers won in the 14 and over category. Closest to the pin went to Darren Bencharski, who also won the Odyssey White Hot Putter.

The Sea to Sky Junior Tour, sponsored by Callaway, tees off every Wednesday at a different Sea to Sky golf course. There are spaces for up to 40 golfers at each stop of the tour.

The cost to participate is $200 per golfer for the entire tour, including green fees, snacks on the ninth, and dinners at the various clubhouses. Golfers can also register at stops on the tour, if there is still space available, by contacting tour director Pat Miller at Nicklaus North.
