Halloween neighbourhood needs candy

Tapley’s Farm, where Whistler kids go to trick or treat, is gearing up for their 16th annual costumed procession.

Tapley’s Farm, where Whistler kids go to trick or treat, is gearing up for their 16th annual costumed procession.

On Halloween evening, about 100 households will give away candy to 600 children and they are looking to the community for some sugary support.

Candy donations are being accepted until Oct. 28 at Myrtle Philip school (at the office during school hours), The Whistler Children’s Centre and 6388 Easy Street (home of one of the organizers.)

For years Tapley’s has been the place in Whistler that supports Halloween, providing a safe and fun evening for kids who cannot trick or treat in their own neighbourhoods.

Many of the 100 houses will also participate in a "best decorated house contest."

Costumed kids can strut their stuff as they go knocking on doors from dusk until roughly 7:30 p.m. During that time the streets will be closed to make it safe.

The sky will light up afterwards in a firework display in the field behind Myrtle Philip school.
