Here’s a night out for all you pickers, honkers and big-time blues fans.
Harmonica wizard Charlie Musselwhite is coming to town. The regular Grammy nominee and six-time W.C Handy Blues Award winner is one of the most interesting and important products of the "white blues movement" that started in the mid-to-late ’60s – not only because he was at the forefront chronologically, but because he is faithful to the style.
The late Big Joe Williams said, "Charlie Musselwhite is one of the greatest living harp players of country blues."
Memphis Charlie also plays a mean guitar but is still best known as the veritable harp hero who puckers, tongue-blocks, lip-blocks and draws huge gasps of breath.
An event not to be missed, with special guest Jim Byrnes.

New open mic night at Hoz’s

It might be excavation central down in Creekside right now but there’s still a few good reasons to get down there – on Thursday nights in particular.
Hoz’s Pub, along with Pete and Jason from WDC, are hosting a brand new open mic jam night, and they want you to get up and play with them. The WDC boys are bringing a couple of guitars and a bass for people to play but by all means bring your own instrument.
"Everything is welcome on stage, except a drum kit," said singer and guitarist for WDC, Pete Couillard. "It’s a nice, relatively quiet acoustic vibe that’ll just be good times for everyone."
So pluck up the courage, down a few beers and join the WDC for an acoustic rock retreat every Thursday night.
Deadline for Squamish Star Search looms

This Howe Sound Arts Association’s main event will be held June 6 and is open to performers aged 13 to 21-years-old. The experience is designed to assist young performers in their pursuits and showcase the Sea-to-Sky corridor talent.
