Police seeking woman’s attacker

The Whistler RCMP are looking for information regarding an assault on a 20-year-old Whistler woman at approximately 2:30 a.m. on May 14.

According to the RCMP, the woman was walking on the Valley Trail in Whistler Cay when she was approached by a lone male. The male grabbed the female’s arm, but the female fought back and managed to escape his grasp, but not before the male punched her in the face. She sustained a black eye, but no further injuries in the attack.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with fair skin, approximately 5’9" or 5’10" in height who is in his late 20s or early 30s. He had straight, dark brown hair to approximately chin length, a defined or strong jaw line, no accent, and was wearing light coloured jeans and a dark jacket with a hood. The RCMP have released a composite drawing of the suspect.

Police seek attacker in Main Street stabbings

A fight involving a large group of individuals on Main Street in the early hours of Monday, May 19, left two individuals with multiple stab wounds to their backs and sides.

The RCMP responded to a complaint of the fight at approximately 1:20 a.m. and found two males that said they had been stabbed.

The first male, a 19-year-old from Surrey, had been stabbed twice in his lower back on the left side. The second male, a 21-year old from Surrey, had been stabbed 14 times on his back and sides.

Both males were taken to the Whistler Health Care Centre, and the second male was later taken to Lions Gate Hospital for treatment and observation. He was reported in stable condition.

The suspect in the case is described as an Asian male with darker skin, approximately 5’5", with a shaved head. He was wearing a red T-shirt with a silver logo on the front.

The investigation is still ongoing and the Whistler RCMP are asking anyone with information regarding this assault to contact 604-932-3044.

Plainclothes officer makes drug bust

Apparently not getting the message, plainclothes officers arrested yet another drug dealer in Village Square on the evening of May 16, at approximately 6 p.m. The male, a 20-year-old Whistler resident, was charged with trafficking, and is due to appear in court on Aug. 27, 2003.

The male was the latest in a series of arrests in connection with a long-term investigation into drug dealing in Whistler Village Square.

Suspect arrested with iron gloves

During a routine foot-patrol of Day Skier Lot 3 at about 6:15 a.m. on the morning of May 19, the RCMP arrested a male for being drunk in a public place. A search as a result of the arrest revealed a pair of lead lined gloves in the suspects jacket pocket.

The 18-year-old male from Coquitlam was taken back to the RCMP detachment where he was later released on charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of an undertaking from a former investigation for possession of a narcotic in Coquitlam. He will appear in court on May 16.
