Canada Day is family affair in Squamish

The Squamish Chamber of Commerce will present the 136 th Canada Day Celebrations at Squamish Junction Park with activities for the whole family. Starting at 9:00 a.m.

The Squamish Chamber of Commerce will present the 136 th Canada Day Celebrations at Squamish Junction Park with activities for the whole family.

Starting at 9:00 a.m. there will be children’s entertainment with a Queen Story Time Show followed by races for children of all ages where everyone gets a ribbon.

The Squamish Lion’s Club will host a barbeque, complete with a special birthday cake, Canadian flags and balloons.

The Squamish Royal Canadian Legion #227 will preside over the official ceremonies and flag raising at Stan Clarke Park at 11:00 a.m.

Following the ceremonies, there will be bucket brigades, tug-of-war and combat challenge competitions to keep children and parents entertained as the Squamish Fire Rescue hosts its 1 st Annual Fire Muster.

At Totem Hall at 1:00 p.m., the 9 th Annual Multicultural Festival will take place, with dancing performances representing the mosaic of cultures in Canada. Lunch will be served.

Other Canada Day activities include celebrating our Canadian history at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park and the BC Museum of Mining.
