The deadline is approaching for WORCA teams to receive a $75 team discount for the 24 Hours of Adrenalin mountain bike race, to be held Aug. 30 to 31 in Whistler. The deal for WORCA members expires on Aug. 20.

With WORCA competing in its own category, requiring a team of five, that amounts to a discount of $15 per rider. In addition, Trilife Sports, the event organizer, has pledged to donate a portion of the money they raise from WORCA members back to WORCA.

WORCA is the only mountain bike group in North America to have its very own category for the event. There are currently nine 24 Hour races in the U.S. and four in Canada.

The cost to enter a team of five is $450, including shirts, prizes, draw prizes, free food and drinks, free camping, a post-race pasta party, and more. In addition, there are prizes for costumes, the best pit themes, and the winners of various side contests that will be revealed during the race.

The race will take place around the Lost Lake area on a course that will be between six and seven kilometres. It’s a relay, and team members see how many laps of the course they can complete around the clock.

This is the first time the event has been held in Whistler, and organizers are expecting a huge turnout.

In addition, the Whistler event will host the World Solo Championships, where riders race alone for the entire 24 hours.
