Pemberton community celebrates Shabbat
After a summer of thinking and studying, a small group of people in Pemberton have formed the Teruah Messianic Community, celebrating Shabbat.
The official opening date for the Teruah Messianic Community is September 27, the day of Israel's Civil New Year: Rosh Hashanah.
So why the name Teruah?
Teruah is a sound blown by the Shofar (ramshorn). There are mainly three reasons that the Shofar was blown in Israel. The link as to what the mission is follows:
1. Blow the Shofar to gather the people - for Worship and Encouragement
2. Blow the Shofar to warn the people - teaching and study of God's Word.
3. Blow the Shofar to welcome a new king - teaching in preparation for coming Messiah as King.
