There is another sale going on this weekend.

Sure, you have your choice of skis, boards, boots, gloves, goggles and every other bit of equipment you need this winter, all at the big sale and swap at Blackcomb.

But there is also a sale on Saturday that will take care of many of your intellectual needs this winter.

A used book sale, with proceeds going to the Whistler Public Library and the Spring Creek Community School Library, takes place in front of the IGA in Marketplace Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"It’s incredible the number of books we’ve had donated, hundreds and hundreds," said organizer Jane Reid.

There is a large selection of children’s books and a good selection of adult fiction books, including large format and book club-type books. There are also works of science fiction, mysteries, romance and classic literature.

In the non-fiction category there are sports, humour, travel, self-help, hobbies and cooking categories.

Magazines and videos are also available.

All sales are by donation and all proceeds go to the two libraries.
