Saturday, Oct. 25. Doors at 10 p.m.Some girls get married and embrace the domestic life, but Erin Pimm, a.k.a. DJ Erin, a familiar sight behind the turntables at Tommy Africas and Garfinkels over the last five years, is definitely not some girls.
Pimm, whos lived in Whistler for the last 12 years, met and married husband Brendan French, a Calgarian, this summer at the iconic Burning Man counter culture event in Nevadas Black Rock Desert.
Their good news is somewhat bad for Whistler fans of the popular DJ as the two have decided to move to San Francisco to become a part of Pink Mammoth, an eight-member creative collective focused on the production of music, art, private parties and club nights.
While Pimm says shell be back for visits, her regular appearances at Tommy Africas Goodtimes club night are coming to an end. This Saturday shell spin a farewell set of hip-hop and funky house tunes. "Pretty standard Saturday night fare," she calls it, although one wonders if Erin is ever capable of being standard.
Guaranteed, this is one girl whos going to go out in style.
