How many people get to say they once had their skis waxed by an Olympic champion?
Pontiac GMC and Alpine Canada Alpin are hosting a nationwide Wax Days fundraiser to help local ski clubs raise money for the upcoming competitive season. Bring your skis or snowboard to a participating Pontiac GMC dealership near you, and athletes from local clubs will be on hand with the iron to wax your gear for the coming season.
All wax jobs are by donation, with 100 per cent of all proceeds going to the club. Swix, Toko, Briko, KuuSport and Tools4Boards provided the wax free of charge for the fundraiser.
Salomon is also providing a prize package valued at $250 for each event, and other activities, including raffles and test drives, will be taking place. Tickets will also be available for an annual grand prize draw of a 2004 GMC Envoy.
The Whistler Mountain Ski Club will be hosting its event in two locations on Saturday, Nov. 15; Greg Gardner Motors of Squamish and Barnes Wheaton Pontiac Buick in Coquitlam.
Pontiac GMC is a major supporter of ski racing in Canada, sponsoring athletes and hosting a national cup series for athletes at the advanced club, provincial and national level.
