A group of enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders celebrated Valentine’s Day with their first loves, grinding the rails and boxes in the mini terrain park under the Magic Chair.

It was the fourth Whistler-Blackcomb King of the Rail contest this season and it attracted more than 60 competitors.

The winners in each category were voted by the athletes themselves after a two hour jam session, and all of the participants were eligible to win draw prizes.

The next King of the Rails event is on Saturday, Feb. 28. You can register for the contest at Ski School Sales in the Blackcomb Lodge after 4:30 p.m. The jam gets underway at 6 p.m.

It costs $2 to enter on top of your Night Moves pass – $12 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under. Season pass holders get half off.
