‘Pooch’ up for some comedy

Buffalo Bill’s has lassoed ex-pat comic Vic Lippucci to headline the club’s weekly comedy night this Tuesday.

Who: Vic Lippucci

What: Comedy Night

Where: Buffalo Bill’s

When: Tuesday, May 18

Originally from Vancouver, Lippucci got into comedy at 17 after a performance in a high-school talent show.

Before chasing the action to New York City in 2002, the man known as "Pooch" built his career locally, winning accolades as Vancouver’s Funniest New Comedian in 1997.

In 2001 he won the national Just for Laughs Homegrown Comic Competition. Honours included a stage appearance at the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, which has resulted in two encore invitations.

Since relocating stateside he’s performed at well known NYC comedy joints such as Carolines, The Comedy Cellar and Stand-Up New York and with the Upright Citizens Brigade improv troupe.

The comic roots his style in both scripted material and improv and even does impressions. Familiarity breeds hilarity – a favourite subject is his old-country Italian father.
