What: The Punk Night featuring tim. and Half Cut
Where: Boot Pub
When: Sunday, June 20
A weekly dose of punk and hardcore flavoured with metal, emo or edgy indie-rock. For the anti-club crowd its become like church, a weekly Sunday event guaranteed to draw people that have a similar view of the world.
And organizers Lindsay Shedden and Chris Jones (Jonesy and Lindsay to their friends and fans) know all too well the night couldnt continue without the dedicated local congregation.
To say thank you theyll be celebrating the punk rock way with a free show this Sunday night featuring long-time Vancouver punk band tim. and Edmonton whiskey-rockers Half Cut. Tim. are flying on the release of new album Devils Wings and will be shooting music video footage barring the health of their BMX-er cameraman who recently injured his ankle.
The show will also be an anniversary celebration for Jonesy and Lindsay. It was just about one year ago the dynamic duo teamed with local promotion company Mountain Promotions to revive the long-running night. Mountain split from The Punk Night last winter but Jonesy and Lindsay are still here.
"The bands are stoked," said Shedden of the nights growing reputation. "Its basically the feel of an all-ages show with a bar-aged crowd.
"This show is a thanks to all the local rockers that come out to all the shows."
