The village walkways will come alive from Fri. July 16 to Sun. July 18 with Latin Heat street entertainment. Check out the beats of three Latin bands, Pancho and Sal, the John Gilliat Trio, the Salsa Pa’Ti and Latin dance demos by Grupo America. Stay tuned for upcoming street performers throughout the summer in this Tourism Whistler program.

ARTWALK>>

The Whistler Arts Council brings Whistler’s first ArtWalk to town from July 3-31, 2004. ArtWalk is a Whistler village-wide exhibition of Sea to Sky corridor visual artists in non-traditional gallery spaces. For more info: info@whistlerartscouncil.com or 604-935-8419.

FOUR SEASONS RIBBON CUTTING>>

Everyone is invited to the Four Seasons Hotel ribbon cutting ceremony on Fri. July 16 at 12:30 p.m. There will be cake and refreshments from 1-4 p.m. along with some songs from the Whistler’s Children’s Chorus.

KINNIE STARR AND FIAMMA FUMANA>>

Live music concert at MY Place on Tues. July 20 from 8-10 p.m. features a Vancouver songwriter/MC along with an Italian group playing electro-folk. Tix $20/$17.

SWISS BLISS>>

Check out the slideshow by mountain bike photographer Sterling Lorence along with a reading by Mitchell Scott, an adventure travel writer. The event begins at 8 p.m. on Wed. July 21 at MY Place. Tix $9.99 and partial proceeds go to local charity Zero Ceiling. Call 604-935-8410.

YOUNG ARTISTS EXPERIENCE TRIBUTE>>

The founding members of the Young Artists Experience program circa 1992-2000 will be performing two chamber music concerts on Thurs. July 22. The first concert takes place at 1 p.m. in front of the 2010 Info Centre. It is followed by a 5 p.m. performance at MY Place. Admission by donation. Call 604-935-8410.

It’s billed as the canine event of the year – the K9 Wine & Dine is back again at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on Sun.
