RCMP extend invitations for COPS program

The Whistler/Pemberton RCMP are inviting concerned and dedicated citizens to participate in a new Citizens On Patrol Society (COPS) program.

The goal of the program is to foster better relations between the public and the police, and to help keep homes and people safer through community-based policing.

The COPS program will be made up of volunteers from the Village of Pemberton, RMOW and the surrounding area that are willing to commit to at least one shift every four weeks. If you are at least 19 years of age, of good character and have a genuine commitment to participate in the deterrence of unlawful activity in the community of Pemberton or the community of Whistler, you are invited to pick up an application at the Whistler or Pemberton RCMP detachments. Completed applications must be received at the Whistler or Pemberton RCMP detachment no later than Sept. 20th.

For further information contact Corporal Mike Wasylenki of the Pemberton RCMP at 604-894-6126 or Constable Michelle Nisbet of the Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044.
