Indie Film night gets a sequel

Local independent filmmaker Davin Peterson is producing a sequel to last month’s inaugural short film screening night this coming Tuesday, Sept. 21 at the HUB Film and Internet Lounge in Creekside.

What: Independent Film Night II

Where: HUB Film and Internet Lounge (Creekside)

When: Tuesday, Sept. 21

The event offers a venue and forum for local short films.

Footage should clock in at approximately five minutes long, be in DVD or mini-DV format, and be locally and independently produced.

Those interested in submitting footage for screening on Tuesday evening must contact Peterson in advance, at 604-932-9847, with the film’s name, duration, format, producer, and a brief description of content. Submissions can be dropped off at HUB.

The indie film nights will also be the subject of a new program currently under production for Whistler Cable 6, featuring interviews with the filmmakers along with the footage.

Peterson and his cohorts intend to host the screening nights monthly, with a goal of creating an organized independent film group for Whistler.

The event kicks off at approximately 9 p.m. with the screenings starting at 10 p.m.

For more information call the HUB at 604-935-9799.
