Upcoming Writer’s Festival to offer Masters Workshop for emerging authors

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 3 and finishing on Sunday, Nov. 14 the Whistler Writer’s Festival will feature some of Canada’s most accomplished authors, editors and publicists, and an exclusive "master’s workshop."

There will be a number of readings and sessions for the public during the festival, but only 20 places available in the master’s workshop.

The workshop has been designed for emerging writers and will feature lectures by acclaimed writer/editor Stephen Osborne and non-fiction author/illustrator Mary Schendinger. Participants will also get the chance to "pitch" to a literary agent.

Interested participants must submit a sample of their work no longer than 4,000 words to Stella Harvey, leader of the Whistler Writer’s Group, at [email protected] prior to Oct. 25.

Participants will be required to pay a workshop fee of $150.
