Kids raise $10,600 jumping rope

Kids at Myrtle Philip School jumped for joy this week and raised $10,600 doing it.

"It was a wonderful event," said Principal Ron Albertin who admitted to being surprised to find out how much kids had raised in the Jump Rope for Heart skipping event.

The money will all go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation which promotes and helps organize the event province wide. It has been going on in schools since 1981.

A bonus for the school, said Albertin, is that kids now skip at lunch and recess adding another healthy activity to their day.
