New night adds house music to the mix and launches with a Ruckus
What: Foundation
Where: Garfinkels
When: Launching Tuesday, Dec. 7, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.
Local promoters JnB Productions and the crew from Function Junction record shop Dirty Beats are joining forces to present Foundation, a new weekly club night at Garfinkels kicking off this Tuesday, Dec. 7.
Foundation will feature break beats, drum n bass and house music from local resident DJs and visiting electronic artists. The club will be enhanced with visuals, decor and JnBs sound system.
Foundation is essentially an evolution of the Jungle N Breaks nights that have been occurring regularly since 2000. The name change came with the decision to add house music.
The first Foundation features the return to Whistler of rambunctious Toronto drum n bass DJ Ryan Ruckus of Hustlin Beats Recordings. Along for the ride is guest lyricist MC Trajady.
Foundation promises to continue the Jungle N Breaks tradition of bringing internationally acclaimed electronic music artists to town. Upcoming Foundation nights will feature Fort Knox Five, DJ Jelo and U.K. Metalheadz artists A-Sides.

Dont Blame Us crew back in bed with Garfinkels
The same crew that brought last seasons Wednesday night Dont Blame Us, theme parties to Garfinkels is back again this year with a sexy new concept.
In Bed With Garfinkels features a different "confessions" theme each week last week was "confessions of a Playboy Bunny" played out by a posse of costumed Garfs Girls. The upcoming event will be "confessions of a mad hatter"a hat party with prizes for the most bizarre headgear. The nights namesake, an actual bed, will take centre stage every week.
In Bed will have an all house music soundtrack. Local DJs Kori K and Milton will be on the decks for the hat party. DJ Garth is also on the roster.
Wednesday welcomes Stacked
On the other side of town this Wednesday popular Vancouver club night Stacked with resident DJ Lush migrates north for a special Stacked in Whistler night at Tommy Africas.
Wednesdays reputation as Whistlers new super-party night is cemented by the weekly locals ragers at Buffalo Bills and the return of popular local turntable technician Mat the Alien to the decks at Moe Joes.
Soul Kitchen goes for a dozen
Sundays at Tommys still belong to Soul Kitchen. Whistlers longest running club night enters its 12 th , count em, 12 th year, and shows no signs of slowing down. The reputation of the Kitchens head DJ Czech attracts a never-ending stream of top talent from Vancouver and the rest of the world, despite the fact that Whistler clubs are forced to shut things down at the peak hour of 1 a.m. on Sunday nights.
Party-killer bylaws aside, last seasons super Soul Kitchens saw the likes of Krafty Kuts, Fort Knox, Lorin and Tipper. Back at the Kitchen tables this Sunday is DJ Kraig (Twisted Productions), who was last in the kitchen with Krafty Kuts.
