What: FIRST NIGHT Back again for more family fun, First Night will delight both kids and adults alike. Check out the Fire Spinners, the local psychics who will look into the future, the Ice Palace, Lantern Making, the Wishing Chair and more! The event is alcohol free. Get your tickets for the New Year celebrations now at Municipal Hall, Meadow Park, Millennium Place, the Visitor Information Centre and the Activity Centre.

What: LOST LAKE SHUFFLE The annual Lost Lake Shuffle will once again feature the two-hour individual and team categories and well as the one-hour family category. Test your endurance by cross country skiing as many 5kms or 2kms laps as possible within the given time.

What: JOHN NEMY: The sky, celebration of Earth and Beyond If you haven’t been to one of John Nemy’s presentations, do yourself a favour and check out the show in January. The local astronomer is presented by the Whistler Naturalists Speaker Series. Admission is by donation.

What: WOMEN OF WHISTLER Sign up for K.I.T. (Knowledge, Information & Tools). It’s a one day educational and networking event with featured speakers, breakout sessions, interactive workshops and a lunch and cocktail reception for all corridor women. What: next snow search The Sports Illustrated "Next Snow SEARCH" is a quest to find the "neXtreme" generation of skiers and snowboarders. Four kids between the ages of nine and 13 (born 1991-96) can qualify for the championship rounds at Keystone, Colorado in February.
