The signature event for the annual Gay and Lesbian Ski and Snowboard week takes place this year on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Telus Conference Centre and will once again run until 6 a.m. It will be Sanchez’s third trip to Whistler in less than a year. The jet-setting DJ’s past two shows at Tommy Africa’s have sold out convincingly.

Other DJs in the Altitude party lineup this year include Stephan Grondin at the kick-off Avalanche Party on Saturday, Jan. 29 and Kimberly S (L.A.) spinning at the Mile High Mountaintop Tea Dance in the early evening hours of Friday, Feb. 4. Tony Moran (L.A.), a returning DJ from Altitude 12, will spin for the Meltdown Party on Friday, Feb. 4, and Kio Kio (L.A.) is on the decks for the Recovery Party on Sunday, Feb. 6. DJ Rob C will open for Sanchez at the Snowball and Grondin at the Avalanche party.

The festival is continuing several traditions including après get-togethers, the pool party, the uniform party, cowboy/gal night at Buffalo Bill’s and women-specific events. New events this year include fireside breakfasts and yoga sessions.

The annual comedy night fundraiser for pediatric AIDS facility Camp Moomba has been re-christened the Brent Benaschak Charity Auction and Comedy Night in honour of event founder Benaschak who passed away mere weeks before Altitude 12.

Altitude 13 runs Jan. 29-Feb. 6. For more information on events go to www.outontheslopes.com.
