"Winter in Pemberton/Mount Currie is always a tough time, we have a couple of good nights then we get robbed, and now theres a flood," said Protter. "I mean, how do you get ahead?"
Protter said he was alerted to the theft when one of his cooks arrived Wednesday to start preparing food.
The restaurant employs nine people who live in the area.
"The place wasnt ransacked and they took some things that were difficult to find so they had an idea what they were doing," said Protter. "I think its telling that they took all the alcohol and cash."
Protter said the thieves also took a cash register, which cost around $600, and some technical equipment. He said the restaurant would remain closed Wednesday because there was a possibility the building could flood.
"My landlord, I know, is very worried that the place could get flooded but Im not so sure."
Protter suspects the incident occurred around 3.30 a.m. Tuesday morning. RCMP are investigating the incident.
"I thought I should publicize this because it might make it easier to find who did it," Protter said.
The RCMP was busy dealing with a potential flood emergency Wednesday so no one was available to comment. But if anyone has information on this robbery call the RCMPs Pemberton branch at 604-894-6634.
