Pemberton Benchlands goes public Feb. 10

The highly anticipated Pemberton Benchlands project is schedule to be presented to the public on Thursday, Feb. 10 between 7 and 9 p.m. at the Pemberton Community Centre at 7567 Pemberton Meadows Road.

The Pemberton council and the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District have both said that the Benchlands project was a big part of the reason why they elected to reject, for now, the Ravens Crest real estate development.

The Benchlands project is partly in SLRD Area C and covers 225 acres of land. The land was designated as a growth area in Pemberton’s official community plan.

The first public forum will involve a review of the site and a summation of the opportunities and challenges. The second forum will be on March 3 and the final forum, where the draft neighbourhood concept plan will be presented, is scheduled for March 31.
